Mapping which cost centers depended on which Mainframe jobs used to be a 76-day manual process. I wrote a JavaScript automation tool using Robot.js that did it in 16 days instead, 4.75x faster, covering 30+ cost centers and over 9,000 Mainframe jobs.
The map itself was useless locked in a spreadsheet, so I built an Angular dashboard with graph visualization on top of it, so stakeholders who weren't engineers could explore the dependencies themselves and make faster, better-informed migration decisions.
